=_=|||

Mei Heong Yuen Desserts

Singapore Garden Festival ~ Flora Window to the World

Title: Passion Restrained Intensity Holds  the Key to Imaginative Creation
Designer: Tomas De Bruyne (Belgium)
Concept: Time is not a feature of the objective world but a dimension of subjectivity; past and future appear in our present being and can only occur in a temporal being.
By going back to nature and letting her infiltrate our being, we realize it is the relationship towards the other that determines who we are in the whole of the universe. Somehow, this puts us in a different dimension, a higher frequency, a world that exists on a different frequency level,. Meeting the other puts our being in question.
Reality is not just our reality - we are lifted towards a higher dimension, where energies are lighter and finer. We are all bound by this energy and thus by its core becoming weightless within space and one within the universe.
Title: The Incredible Lightness of Being
Designer: Per Benjamin (Sweden)
Concept: Life is incomprehensible and, therefore, so beautiful. Life is like flowers, fragile yet strong - in need of care, love and protection but also proud, radiant and almost vain when in full bloom. We are always dependent on the mysterious string of life. The string symbolizes faith, hope and belief, and is tantalizingly out of reach.

Title: Botanical Mysticism
Designer: Max van de Sluis (The Netherlands)
Concept: Plant materials are used to create a mysterious world, while the flowers provide a sense of movement. "Botanical Mysticism" has a fairy tale setting that aims to invite visitors to create their own story.
Title: I can Fly
Designer: Alex Choi (Korea)
Concept: Sometimes silence can seem so loud
I used to think that I could not go on
If I just spread my wings
I believe I can fly
I believe I can soar
I see myself running through that open door
There are miracles in life I must achieve
I know it starts inside of me
Title: Global Warming
Designer: Pirjo Koppi (Finland)
Concept: This thought-provoking design reflects the impacts of climate change and extreme weather conditions on the environment. One day we may experience snow in the tropics and exotic flowers in the snow. Let's take care of our earth!
Title: The transformation
Designer: Ong Cheng Lang (Singapore Florist Association)
Concept: According to Chinese mythology, a carp that makes a successful jump over the Dragon's Gate, which is located on the Yellow River, is transformed into a dragon. The image of a carp jumping over the Dragon's Gate is an old and enduring Chinese cultural symbol for courage, perseverance, and accomplishment.
Title: The Web of Life
Designer: Solomon Leong (Hong Kong)
Concept: This display takes its inspiration from the multi-branched and interlinked structures of arteries, neurons and other cells, where growth is often seen to be spontaneous, uneven and unpredictable, although highly structured.
In this installation, the repetitive wrapping and overlapping of transparent plastic film create an organic mesh, which is at the same time amorphous, unplanned and complex. The result is a web-like, three dimensional form, which is reminiscent of the growing process that can be observed in various botanical forms.
Title: Circle of Dream
Designer: Garrik Goh (Singapore Hortiflora Federation)
Concept: Walk into the path of flora sweets,
Scent of wonder glittering on you,
Twinkle Fairies Twinkle Lights,
Wish upon the Circle of Dreams,
May your wish come true...
Title:  Emblem of Resilience
Designer: Irene Hee (Floriculture Association Singapore)
Concept: Mother earth is sick.
Her air, land and seas are ravaged.
Her forests are laid bare, her soil desecrated.
As her temperature soars, she convulses.
In cosmic chaos, the earth ruptures,
mountains spew fire and oceans surge in tsunamis.
We sense her despair,
see the consequence of our callousness.
With hands, hearts and minds,
we begin to heal Mother Earth.
Mother Earth recovers.
Her beauty is incomparable.
Title: Beyond White
Designer: Zita Elze (Brazil)
Concept: "Beyond White" re-creates a fairytale wedding set in an enchanted garden. A beautiful wedding table, adorned with floral magic in shades of white, take centrestage. The scene, decorated with locally-sourced plants, lifts the tableau to the outer limits of our imagination, transporting visitors to another world. Driftwood and trees add an extra layer of ethereal tranquility to the tableau.
Title: Darkness in Flames
Designer: Brigitte Heinrichs (Germany)
Concept:
Red: connects with fire, heat, warmth, powerful, alarming, active, aggressive, energetic, resolute, vital, exciting, fiery, vigor, hot, burning, intense, strong
Black: connects with darkness, elegance, exclusive, serious, gravity, morbid, obscure, absolute, draconic, dignified, dark, sombre, grating, harsh, deep, severe, cruel

Title: Realising Beauty
Designer: Mark Pampling (Australia)
Concept: What is beautiful? Beauty is different for each individual, and it can be many things - enduring, fleeting, obvious, unfolding and sometimes taken for granted.
The beauty of flowers is universally understood and appreciated. This display creates an environment that invites the viewer to take time to contemplate the beauty in flowers and floral design.

Singapore Garden Festival ~ Balcony Garden

There is some balcony design display, which design that you like most?
Title: "Balcony in Boundlessness"
Designer: Ben Tan - Prince's Landscape and Construction Pte Ltd
Concept: "This balcony garden features an integrated living space - a haven for the weary soul to come home to. Tropical plants, hardwood and green walls come together to evoke a natural yet contemporary feel. Bamboos set off the balcony from the living area, providing a sense of seamlessness. Curved and wavy strokes are used to convey boundlessness and the message that we can find sanctuary in the comfort of our own home."

Title: "Living with Orchids - Style, Sanctuary, Home"
Designer: Wilson Too - Orchid Business Cluster
Concept: "This is a sanctuary to soothe & rejuvenate. Escape our stressful urban environment and retreat into the world of orchids where their "smiling faces" will welcome you home."

Title: "Juliet's Balcony"
Designer: Maurene Tan - DP Green Pte Ltd
Concept: "Venice is a city renowned for the beauty of its architecture and artwork. As you cruise along the canals, pockets of balconies pop out from walls of buildings.
Each balcony is a piece of art; each is unique in the way it is decorated. These balconies remind me of Juliet balconies which are named Shakespear's Juliet, who in traditional staging of the play Romeo and Juliet, is courted by Romeo while she is on her balcony.
Title: "Living Green Balcony"
Designer: Veera Sekaran - Greenology Pte Ltd
Concept: "Living Green Balcony" is an expression of the subtle realities of space constraints in high-rise apartment living. This display brings together the art and science of greening by infusing technology to allow fuss-free expressions of greenery in very tight spaces. The balcony is transformed into a living, breathing space, with plants and people creating a sustainable, micro-ecological living system.
Title: "In/Out"
Desinger: Alex Xu - Chi Ling Nursery
Concept: "In/Out represents modern, borderless and fusion living in limited spaces. This display brings the pergola IN and bring out the outdoor haven within the home. With clever use of tropical plants, timber works and green wall concept, In/Out brings out the vibrancy of a natural green habitat, making it a space worth coming home to. In this garden, the balcony is not just another extended space but also part of the home.

Title:"A Breath of the Wind"
Designer: Toh Lee Hua - Greencrafts and Design Pte Ltd
Concept: "Small homes are common in many land-scarce cities. This garden is designed to bring you close to nature. The tree in the balcony stretches into the living space, while the use of green screen helps to open up the space. Nature belongs to each of us. We can all enjoy green space with minimum maintenance while doing our bit for the planet.

Singapore Garden Festival
